You're comparing a nattokinase supplement in NZ and spot 2,000 FU on the label. Is that 2,000 mg? And does a bigger number mean a better supplement? They're sensible questions, especially when the other ingredients are listed in milligrams.
Our XTR-Circulation with Nattokinase lists 2,000 FU of nattokinase per vegetarian capsule. FU stands for fibrinolytic units. It describes enzyme activity measured in a laboratory, not the weight of the ingredient or a guaranteed result in your body. We combine nattokinase with four other ingredients because we wanted to offer something broader for everyday vascular wellbeing, while keeping every amount clear.
The 2,000 FU number tells you about activity, not milligrams
Think of milligrams as the amount of material and FU as a way of measuring what an enzyme does during a test. They tell you different things. For nattokinase, the laboratory test looks at activity involving fibrin, a protein involved in normal blood clotting. The result is expressed in fibrinolytic units.
So 2,000 FU does not equal 2,000 mg. You cannot make a simple conversion because enzyme activity and weight are different measurements. XTR-Circulation states 2,000 FU per capsule, but we don't list a separate milligram weight for its nattokinase.
FU is useful when you're trying to understand the enzyme activity declared on a label. It's not a score for how well a supplement will work for you. A product marked 4,000 FU, for example, doesn't automatically offer twice the benefit of one marked 2,000 FU. Higher activity on a label does not, by itself, promise better health outcomes.
Human research on nattokinase is still limited. We think it's far more helpful to know what the number actually measures, then look at the whole formula and whether it is suitable for you.
Why We Didn't Stop at Nattokinase
We wanted XTR-Circulation to be more than a bottle with one familiar enzyme on the front. That's why our New Zealand-made formula brings together nattokinase, two carefully measured plant extracts, ginger and taurine. Each has a place in the blend, and we tell you how much is in every capsule.
Nattokinase starts the story at 2,000 FU per capsule. It's an enzyme associated with natto, the traditional Japanese fermented soybean food. We chose it as the enzyme component of a formula intended for people interested in everyday circulation and vascular wellbeing.
Alongside it, we include 100 mg of pine bark extract, providing 95 mg of procyanidins, and 100 mg of hesperidine extract, providing 90 mg of hesperidin. Pine bark is a source of plant compounds known as procyanidins, which are valued for their antioxidant properties. Hesperidin is a citrus flavonoid. Together, these extracts give us a botanical side to the formula, with a focus on everyday blood vessel support rather than just an enzyme activity number.
We then add 75 mg of ginger extract, providing 3.75 mg of gingerols. Ginger is a familiar ingredient with a long history of use in foods and traditional wellness preparations. Here, it adds another botanical element, with its gingerols clearly stated. To complete the five, there's 200 mg of taurine, a compound found naturally in the body and involved in normal cell function. We include taurine as part of our broader cardiovascular wellbeing focus.
What we like about this combination is its simplicity from your side of the counter: five clearly named ingredients in one vegetarian capsule, rather than several separate bottles to keep track of. That doesn't mean a five-ingredient supplement has been proven to work better than nattokinase on its own. It means we've chosen to bring these ingredients together in a way that's easy to understand and consider.
Where this capsule fits into an ordinary day
We know that a supplement has to make sense alongside everything else in your day. XTR-Circulation comes in a vegetarian capsule, and the adult direction is straightforward: take one capsule daily, preferably between meals, or as professionally prescribed.
There's no need to work out a separate nattokinase amount from the FU number. The 2,000 FU is already the declared activity in that one capsule. Please follow the directions rather than taking more to chase a bigger figure.
Whether you're at a desk or out for regular walks, our formula is one option to explore alongside everyday basics such as movement, meals and water.
If you're interested in wider everyday heart support, browse our Heart & Circulation collection. You can also explore our blood flow and circulation guide for a broader look at the subject. If the five-ingredient blend is what caught your eye, XTR-Circulation is a natural place to begin exploring.
Before you add it to your basket
One thing we always want you to check with nattokinase is whether it suits your medicines and health history. This is particularly important because nattokinase may increase bleeding risk.
If you take blood-thinning or antiplatelet medicines, including warfarin or aspirin, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before considering XTR-Circulation. Nattokinase may not be suitable alongside these medicines. Please don't stop, replace or adjust any prescribed medicine to make room for a supplement.
It's also important to get qualified advice if you have a bleeding or clotting condition, have had a blood clot before, or have surgery planned. Even if the ingredients sound familiar, your individual circumstances matter. We're always happy to help with product information, but a health professional is the right person to assess these risks.
Do not use XTR-Circulation during pregnancy or breastfeeding. And because nattokinase is associated with fermented soybeans, please don't assume the finished capsule is soy-free. If you have a soy allergy, contact our team to check the actual formulation and speak with a qualified health professional before use.
Cold hands and feet can have different causes. If yours are persistently cold, painful, unusually discoloured or suddenly changing, seek medical assessment rather than relying on a supplement. We want you to feel confident about what you're choosing, including when the right next step is to ask for advice first.
Come and see the formula for yourself
Our XTR-Circulation with Nattokinase has a clear idea behind it: one New Zealand-made vegetarian capsule combining nattokinase, pine bark, hesperidin, ginger and taurine. You get a declared 2,000 FU of nattokinase activity alongside four ingredients with their own clearly listed amounts.
You can see full ingredient details and available product variants on our XTR-Circulation product page. We think it's a thoughtful formula worth a closer look when you're exploring support for everyday vascular wellbeing.
FAQs
What does 2,000 FU mean on a nattokinase label?
FU stands for fibrinolytic units. It is a laboratory measure of nattokinase enzyme activity. Our XTR-Circulation supplies 2,000 FU per capsule; this number is not a guaranteed result in your body.
Is 2,000 FU the same as 2,000 mg?
No. FU measures enzyme activity, while mg measures weight. Our product states 2,000 FU of nattokinase per capsule but does not state a nattokinase weight in milligrams.
Why does Gold Health include four other ingredients?
We pair nattokinase with pine bark extract, hesperidine extract, ginger extract and taurine to offer a more rounded formula for everyday vascular wellbeing. The blend combines an enzyme, botanical ingredients and taurine in one vegetarian capsule.
How do I take Gold Health XTR-Circulation?
Adults take one capsule daily, preferably between meals, or as professionally prescribed. Check with a qualified health professional before use if you take medicines or have a condition that may affect suitability.
Can I take nattokinase with blood-thinning medicine or aspirin?
Do not add nattokinase alongside blood-thinning or antiplatelet medicines, including warfarin or aspirin, without advice from your doctor or pharmacist. Nattokinase may increase bleeding risk and is not a replacement for prescribed medicine.
