[83,84]
Oral turmeric has been found equivalent to aerobic exercise in promoting blood vessel integrity in older women and equivalent to drugs to prevent heart attacks in type II diabetes patients. [81,85] A 65% reduced risk of heart attack was also demonstrated in people who took high doses of curcumin supplements after heart bypass surgery.

Numerous animal studies have proven turmeric’s effects in significantly decreasing blood sugar levels,  helping lower blood insulin levels,  and improving insulin resistance and blood sugar control. Many studies also provided evidence for symptom relief with turmeric supplementation. [118,119]
A study shows that in the condition of colitis, patients who took high doses of curcumin together with prescribed medication had better outcomes staying in remission of the disease for longer periods of time. 
Turmeric has also been found to assist in other digestive tract conditions such as Crohn’s disease  and digestive symptoms such as constipation and diarrhea.
